Volunteers are the backbone of our work and we are always looking for help. Volunteers help take our neighbors through the food pantry so that they can pick out their own food and with re-stocking as needed.

Volunteers’ Testimonials

Why I Help Others

I believe my Bible talent is being a servant. But I know my limits. Knowing I can do a simple thing like bagging up groceries for people who have far less than I do gives me a good feeling. And most of us like to be happy.

I love going shopping for extras besides food for the pantry. It’s nice to see a person’s face light up with one of those extras.

I smiled when I read my Bible verse for today after writing this. Proverbs 11:25 ‘A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.’

DONATION TESTIMONIAL

I started donating to the food bank when I saw more than 100 cars waiting in line for food. I was shocked that the pandemic pushed so many families over the edge in just a couple of months. After donating a few times, I decided to put my money where my mouth is. I started volunteering and discovered how rewarding it is. You get to show that someone cares and you get a glimpse of where they are coming from. I know we are treating the symptom and not the problem. But treating the symptom allows these folks to survive until we fix the problem.
